Android 11 and its Security and Privacy features

As users are already buying smartphones loaded with Android 10 OS, Google released a preview of its Android 11 operating system on February 19th this year which is to be likely released by the late summer on a commercial note.

Some Android users who got an opportunity to use the beta version released in May 2020 say that some features were directly copied from Apple and its iOS 13 OS- most likely those related to security and privacy.

Google released a media briefing last month saying that its new version of the mobile operating system will focus more on biometric authentication such as Facial unlock and fingerprint scanner as it is allowing developers to work on developing BiometricPrompt API to squeeze in more essential security features.

In Android 11, users can allow a newly installed app to use permissions to access the microphone, location, camera, and contacts only once.

Google R (Yeah, as the Android 10 version happens to be named as Q and Android 11 will be called as R) OS will exhibit secure storage feature where users can store verifiable documents such as mobile driving license it.

Furthermore, the new operating system will work on different versions of screens like waterfall screens, foldable ones like the Moto Razr, and hole punch or pinhole screens. Also, it will allow developers to build apps that can take advantage of high speed 5G data networks.

Another highlight of Android 11 will be the refined version of app storage in a Sandbox which is already loaded on the Android 10 Operating System.
