Serverless Security technology offering company Protego was acquired by Checkpoint Software Technologies for an undisclosed amount. And the latter expects to integrate the former’s technology into its Infinity Architecture to secure its technologies related to mobile, cloud, endpoint, IoT and network from sophisticated cyber attacks.

Sources reporting to Cybersecurity Insiders say that the company’s technology and assets will be integrated into Check Point by 4Q of 2019 and the management change will take place thereafter.

“We are planning to integrate Protego’s Technology into our CloudGuard Portfolio and will leverage the services making it into complete cloud security and compliance platform delivering unprecedented protection across multi-cloud and hybrid environments”, said Dr. Dorit Dor, Vice President, Check Point.

As companies are showing a lot of interest in moving their applications to Serverless computing technologies such as AWS Lambada, vulnerabilities such as misconfigurations are emerging out as threats to functions and codes. This is where Protego’s technology can prove useful to those using Infinity Architecture of Check Point as it helps prevent users from malicious attacks on serverless functions in run time, and vulnerable codes.

Note- Checkpoint is a multinational technology provider that offers software products and services related to network, mobile, cloud and endpoints. Nowadays, it is on an acquisition spree and is looking to expand its Zero-Day Protection and Mobile Security business. The company was also the first to discover a security breach into Xiaomi Phone Apps.
