Hack The Box (HTB), a global leader in AI cybersecurity readiness, has introduced new platform capabilities designed to provide security leaders with deeper insight into workforce skills, operational performance and organizational cyber readiness. As artificial intelligence continues to reshape both cyber threats and security operations, the company is broadening its cyber readiness platform to help organizations uncover capability gaps, assess team effectiveness and improve cyber resilience.
The expanded platform brings together hands-on Security Operations Center (SOC) training, crisis response simulations, AI-powered learning assistance and workforce intelligence within a unified environment. This enables organizations to build, measure and validate cyber readiness across individual analysts, security teams and operational functions. Following its acquisition of Let’s Defend, HTB has significantly expanded its offensive, defensive and purple-team training offerings, enabling organizations to improve collaboration between security functions while enhancing incident response and crisis preparedness.
Industry research points to a growing shift toward integrated cybersecurity teams that combine offensive, defensive and AI-driven capabilities. According to the HTB Cybersecurity Workforce Intelligence Report released in May, organizations are increasingly moving away from traditional red-team versus blue-team models as AI reshapes cybersecurity roles and accelerates demand for specialized expertise, requiring CISOs to rethink workforce development strategies.

As part of its investment in defensive security, HTB has integrated Let’s Defend into its platform and introduced SOC Range, a realistic training environment that allows analysts to develop practical experience and validate their performance before responding to real-world security incidents. HTB Academy now includes more than 230 defensive security courses and has expanded its blue-team curriculum more than sixfold. Role-based training has also doubled to cover positions including Threat Hunter, SOC Manager, Incident Responder and Information Security Specialist, while the blue-team lab library has increased by nearly 70%. SOC Range further strengthens these capabilities with more than 250 alerts that analysts can triage and investigate across a wide range of SOC roles and operational scenarios.

The newly announced capabilities include:
- SOC Range – Enables organizations to build and measure analyst readiness through realistic SOC investigations, incident response workflows and security operations scenarios. Combined with HTB’s Threat Range exercises, it creates a progression from individual skill development to team-based operational readiness.
- Crisis Control – Provides crisis simulation exercises that combine technical investigations with executive decision-making, allowing organizations to identify preparedness gaps and validate response capabilities before an actual cyber incident occurs.
- HTB Coach – Delivers AI-augmented learning assistance with real-time guidance, explanations and knowledge reinforcement to accelerate cybersecurity skill development.
- Enterprise Workforce Development and Curriculum Management – Gives organizations greater flexibility to deliver structured or self-paced learning programs while tracking employee progress, skill development and cyber readiness across teams.
HTB also plans to expand its blue-team portfolio with the launch of a new Detection Engineering learning path later this month, followed by a corresponding certification in the third quarter. The additions are intended to help organizations develop and validate expertise in one of the cybersecurity industry’s fastest-growing specialties.
Alongside these platform enhancements, HTB announced that its HTB Defense Operations Analyst (HTB DOA) certification program has received Department of Defense Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) 8140 approval for multiple cyber defense work roles. The company has also added its Certified Offensive AI Expert (HTB COAE) certification to Synack’s SRT Pathways program, increasing the total number of HTB certifications recognized by Synack to four.
The company’s continued expansion reflects growing demand for practical cybersecurity training and workforce development. Since 2023, HTB has nearly tripled the number of modules available through its Academy, broadened its portfolio of hands-on attack simulations and expanded its global community to more than 4.3 million cybersecurity professionals.
