Introduction to Software Vulnerability Assessment

CloudPassage Halo’s Software Vulnerability Assessment module (SVA), is one of the most critical components of the Halo platform. The SVA module regularly scans all of your protected servers to detect known vulnerable packages, providing universal visibility into your workloads.

These scans cross-reference the software installed on your servers against known vulnerabilities including checking the operating system, drivers, and applications. Information about installed packages is derived from your operating system’s package manager.

By default, SVA scans run automatically once per day. However, you can customize how often your scans run in the Site Administration section of the Halo platform.

To learn more about how SVA scans work and how to set them up within the Halo platform, check out the video below!
