US President Joe Biden, who is about to take charge on January 20th, 2021, is planning to pump in an investment of $9 billion to strengthen the Cybersecurity posture of North America in the international arena.

The decision might have been influenced after the Solarigate data breach scandal was unveiled to the world by FireEye in November 2020. Perhaps the Biden led government doesn’t want to take any chances and is ambitious to modernize and secure federal IT Networks by investing more in the cyber sphere.

According to the details available to Cybersecurity Insiders, Biden is planning to invest $300million in building secure IT infrastructure besides the investment of $200m to buy related Cybersecurity software that will support both the new and legacy hardware. A $690 million investment is expected to be pumped into by May 2021 to improve the monitoring and incident response posture of the federal government.

Note- As the 47th President, Biden is all set to take the oath on January 20, 2021, and will represent Democratic Party after Obama Administration that led the American nation in between 2009 to 2017. Kamala Harris will lead the nation as Vice President and a running mate to Biden. The Democratic Party leader has received his first dose of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in December 2020 from the healthcare experts at the Christiana Hospital in Delaware and will get the second dose after he takes oath as the president.
