This latest version introduces an enhanced set of features and improvements designed to achieve near-zero downtime and data loss across diverse IT infrastructures, while simplifying accessibility, upgrading MSP tenant management and streamlining disaster resilience.
Multilingual Interface: 5 New Languages
The v11.1 release of NAKIVO Backup & Replication introduces full language support for French, Italian, German, Polish and Chinese, in addition to English and Spanish. Users can now manage backup jobs, automate recovery processes, monitor virtual resources and restore data in their preferred language for a more intuitive experience.
Expanded Backup Capabilities for Proxmox VE
Building on the foundation introduced in version 11, NAKIVO expands its support for Proxmox VE in v11.1, empowering businesses to achieve comprehensive disaster resilience without expensive infrastructure changes. The update adds several new features, including:
- Flash VM Boot for instant recovery, allowing operations to resume within seconds.
- VM Replication to ensure high availability and fast failover in the event of an outage or data corruption.
- VM Template backup and recovery for rapid, standardized deployment of preconfigured VMs.
- Automated backup verification with detailed reports and screenshots to ensure recoverability.
- Direct recovery from tape storage, eliminating the need for an intermediate staging repository.
- Exchange and SQL Server Log Truncation for optimized storage and improved system efficiency.
MSP Direct Connect
In traditional setups, connections between MSP infrastructures and client environments often required open ports on the client’s side.
The upgraded MSP Direct Connect in v11.1 removes this necessity, introducing a new MSP-tenant connection model that simplifies deployment and tenant onboarding without complex network configurations.
All communication between the MSP Director and Client Transporter is fully encrypted, ensuring compliance with stringent internal and external security regulations. Additionally, support for Hyper-V and Proxmox VE has been added to NAKIVO backup for MSPs, complementing existing compatibility with VMware and physical Windows/Linux machines, allowing MSPs to deliver services seamlessly across various platforms.
Real-Time Replication for VMware
Now fully released and no longer in beta, Real-Time Replication lets users create and maintain continuously synchronized replicas of VMware virtual machines.
The setup is more efficient than ever, as the solution automatically installs the required IO Filter and Journal Service, removing manual configuration and saving administrators time.
Users can now integrate a real-time replication failover action into Site Recovery workflows to automate failover to real-time replicas. In the event of a disruption, the Site Recovery job triggers automatic failover, allowing replicas to take over instantly and maintain “always-on” service availability. This ensures zero data loss and uninterrupted service without manual intervention. For additional protection, the replicated data transmitted over unsecured WAN links is encrypted to prevent interception or unauthorized access.
Granular Backup for Physical Machines
This new feature enables users to back up specific folders or volumes within a physical machine instead of performing a full system backup. With v11.1, organizations can select and back up individual folders or drives on Windows and Linux systems.
Granular backups can be stored in virtually any destination: Local storage, cloud repositories, deduplication appliances, network file shares or even tape. Immutability, encryption and air-gapping are supported.
Recovery is equally versatile since users can recover data to SMB/NFS shares, send files via email or download them directly through a web browser. This ensures that folders or volumes can be restored quickly and easily in any scenario.
