Australia’s most popular Quantas airlines have granted a Cloud Security contract worth $1.14 million to Sydney-based FirstWave Technology. As a part of this contract, FirstWave will offer a security as a service to the Air services provider for two and half years from now.

As per our sources, the deal will be a 30-month term with an extension option of 24 months. It will add around $38k incremental monthly revenue to the cloud security provider.

FirstWave announced that it’s happy to receive the contract and is said to deploy Cisco Cloud Security services and advanced malware protection for Quantas’s international and domestic operations.

FirstWave which recently bagged a $500K worth email protection contract to serve 200,000 students from South Australian Government is happy that its business is prospering at a buoyant pace. The cloud company announced that the deal was secured through the company’s long-term partnership with Telstra.

FirstWave’s partnership with Telstra is almost 5-years old as the former provides cloud-based security as a service to some of the Telstra’s enterprise and government customers. The company’s product line includes Cloud Secure Email Gateway, Cloud Secure Web Gateways, Cloud Secure Next Generation Firewall Gateway and Cloud Integration Services.

Quantas is a third oldest airline in the world which offers Fleet services and International flight services to all globally recognized destinations. As the airline which is based in Mascot, Sydney depends on cloud-based services for 70% of its IT operations; it has planned to boost its security model by signing FirstWave.

Hope, FirstWave’s service offerings which are designed to scale will strategically position the company to take advantage of the global demand for cloud security services.
