Samsung Biometrics Mobile Security System wins GSMA Mobile Award

Samsung has won the GSMA mobile award for 2017 at the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona last week. The Electronics giant bagged the award for the category of ā€œThe Best Mobile Security of Anti Fraud Solutionā€.

Samsung Biometrics based Mobile Security Management Suite uses PKI based biometric solution Nexsign and Enterprise Mobile Management to connect data related to facial biometrics, voice, and fingerprint to user info on mobile devices. Thus, on seeing the sophistication driven mobile security GSMA association awarded Samsung the mobile security award.

Samsungā€™s Enterprise Mobile Management offers authentication methods and deployments, including configuration of user privileges from an administrative account to management of company accounts.
Hence, it enables companies to securely manage their devices while limiting security risks without compromising user convenience.

ā€œSamsung is honored to receive the world-renowned award for its competence in mobile security that global companies are focusing onā€, said Won-Pyo Hong, President of Solution Business, Samsung SDS- a subsidiary of Samsung Group.

Hong added that this will enable the company to turn as a good example for many international and domestic businesses that are keen on promoting both security and user convenience.

Note 1- Samsung SDS is a business unit of Samsung group which was established in 1985 to provide services related to Information Technology. This includes consultation services, technical services, Outsourcing services and R&D.

Note 2- SDS of Samsung was the first to receive the National Information Assurance Partnership US Common Criteria for both Android and iOS.

As Samsung stands second in the world delivering technology driven mobile phones to its users, all these awards and recognitions will surely help in motivating the Samsungā€™s developmental teams to come up with more secure devices in near future.

Note 3- Samsung is all set to launch its Samsung S8 phone in April this year.
