US to fight Ransomware Attacks with Israel

After issuing a trade ban on NSO Group for indulging in spying across the globe through its in-house developed Pegasus Spying software, the United States has signed a new cybersecurity initiative with Israel to fight against those spreading ransomware.

According to the latest press release, the two allies will join forces to block ransomware spread and those being funded by adversary nations like Russia and China.

In the past two months, Russia linked ransomware groups have spread havoc in whole of America by disrupting the IT infrastructure of several companies indulged in healthcare, food, software and manufacturing sector.

Thus, by taking the cooperation of nations on an international level, the Biden led administration wants to combat global threats, including ransomware with perseverance.

Wally Adeyemo, the Deputy Treasury Secretary, admitted his team met Avigdor Lieberman, the Israel’s Finance Minister and General Yigal Unna serving as National Cyber Director, Israel to establish partnership through which information sharing between allies regards to security regulation and guidance; hacking incidents and intelligence on cyber threats will be done.

President Biden will also attend a conference in February 2022 that will thereafter pave way for a free path to staff and personnel to attend training, exercises and intellectual to help respond to nation funded cyber attacks effectively.

Note- On November 13th,2021, NSO released a press update that its technologies support US National Security Interests and Policies that help prevent cyber and terror crime. And so imposing a trade ban on its software and services was totally unfair.
