Cisco to buy Cybersecurity startup Portshift

Networking giant Cisco has made it official that it is in plans to gain Cybersecurity Startup Portshift for an undisclosed amount. Terms of deals are not disclosed.

But trade analysts say that the deal might have fetched Portshift something around in millions.

Liz Centoni, Senior Vice President of Emerging Technology and Innovation, confirmed the news and said that the newly acquired company will help in quenching the security needs of customers and will take the position of Cisco to international standards and will place them on a par with Amazon, Google and other specific cloud products.

As companies are increasingly adopting DevOps Principles by sending their apps through continuous integration and delivery pipeline, managing security features in the development life-cycle has become vital.

Ed Amoroso, the CEO of TAG Cyber, said that networking and application development have depended on one another in the marketplace nowadays and so Cisco has purchased PortShift to offer services as per the demand in the marketplace.

Cisco Systems is an American technology conglomerate is into the supply of software, networking equipment, and top end products and services. Domain Security, Internet of Things and Energy management are some specialties of this tech market.

PortShift offers products that are designed to provide vulnerability, and configuration management along with network segmentation and data encryption along with last but not the least Compliance Auditing.
