Sophos Mobile Security has won Best Android Security Award from AV-Test for the second consecutive time. To put this into clear perspective, the said firm has succeeded in detecting and blocking every single malware that was thrown at it by AV-Test since September 2014.

The test which was conducted in November 2016 evaluated 26 mobile security products for Android using their default settings and that too on the most current versions. The aim was to focus on categories like malware detection, and usability, including performance and false positives.

As per the update available with us, Sophos excelled in the entire tests after gaining 13 points for fending off Android malware and that too not at the expense of the battery life of mobile devices.

The highlight of the test results is that the Sophos mobile security firm not only won the award for securing mobile apps against most dreaded malware but has also won accolades for its exuberant features and usability interface.

Ā ā€œSophos Android protection ability is excellent as it offers to its users a combined functionality of malware detection and well-devised security characteristicsā€, said Andreas Marx, CEO of AV-Test GmbH.

Onur Komli, Third Party Testing manager for Infrastructure at Sophos said that the security features were already the best in place. But the latest award from AV-Test validates Sophos Labs to be placed as a top business player in the field of mobile security.

Historically speaking, Sophos won the first AV-Test Android Protection Award in the year 2015 and consecutively earned the Best Android Security Award in 2016.

Thus, this company can claim itself as the only firm which won the best awards of all times in the world of Mobile Security.
