DeepKeep Introduces AI Lens for Developers to Give CISOs Visibility and Control Over Coding Agents

DeepKeep, an end-to-end AI security platform, has announced AI Lens for Developers, an extension of its AI usage control and runtime protection modules designed to secure software developers and coding agents capable of writing, modifying, and executing code on their behalf. The new capability provides security teams with policy enforcement, audit visibility, and runtime security for coding agents such as Cursor and Claude Code, addressing a critical gap in existing security programs.

According to JetBrains research, 90% of developers use AI coding agents at work at least weekly, intensifying concerns about endpoint security. These agents can access local files, execute shell commands, and invoke MCP tools directly on developers’ machines. However, security teams often lack visibility into how these capabilities are used and have limited means to prevent unauthorized or potentially harmful activity. As coding agents assume a greater role in the software development life cycle (SDLC), code can move from prompt to production with substantially less human review at each stage.

DeepKeep’s AI Lens for Developers introduces guardrails and continuous monitoring tailored to developers’ actual workflows, tracking and filtering activities performed by both developers and their agents. Designed as a lightweight plug-in rather than a full endpoint agent, AI Lens intercepts agent activity before and after execution, providing security coverage without introducing another endpoint client footprint on developer machines. The capability identifies credentials, tokens, and passwords that could be exposed through prompts and attached files, while detecting insecure code patterns in agent-generated output, including functions that lack authentication. Potentially destructive commands are flagged and submitted for human approval before execution. Security teams can also configure custom key-phrase detection to identify sensitive code sections or references to internal repositories by name.

AI Lens generates a comprehensive audit log for every session, recording details such as device ID, prompt content, and user ID. This gives security teams a traceable record of activity, including cases in which a developer modifies a blocked request and attempts it again. Administrators manage enforcement through a Policy Hub, where they can configure rules for individual roles or the entire organization and restrict categories of activity involving personally identifiable information (PII), credentials, or destructive commands. Hooks integrated into coding agents intercept prompts, shell commands, file reads, and MCP tool calls before and after execution, forwarding each action to DeepKeep’s system for an allow, block, or audit decision.

“Developers have more permissions and access than almost anyone else in the organization, and coding agents now act with full autonomy and responsibility. The risk is real, as the recent OpenAI and Hugging Face incident showed, where AI agents were able to access and exploit external systems during testing,” said Ofer Rotberg, VP Product of DeepKeep. “It is essential for CISOs to maintain visibility into what’s happening inside these tools, not just whether they’re approved on paper. Security teams must monitor every agent action and block harmful behaviour in real time, instead of sitting and waiting for the next incident.”

AI Lens for Developers currently supports Cursor and Claude Code. Support for GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, Lovable, Windsurf, and additional tools is planned for the future. The capability is available now as part of DeepKeep’s broader dedicated AI security platform.
