Fitbit data to be secure with Google Login

Fitbit has released a press statement saying that all its users need to login into their Google accounts from next year and this will apply to those using Fitbit devices and those intended to be activated after 2023.

It is already a fact that wearable company Fitbit was acquired by the web search giant in the year 2021 and now it plans to incorporate all the products of its subsidiary into its wings in a wholesome way.

So, the Alphabet Incā€™s subsidiary will make it mandatory for Fitbit users to sign up to their Gmail accounts to ensure smooth logins and operations, thereafter.

Fitbit added in its press update that all user personal data will be kept private and the usage analytics will be kept free from advertising and marketing tactics.

All the regular Fitbit accounts will receive updates until the year 2025 and after the year, the user needs to switch to a Google account to use the services of Fitbit from then on.

NOTE- Fitbit is an American electronics manufacturer offering wearable devices and activity trackers for physical fitness via speedometers, smart watchers, monitoring devices to keep a track of sleep patterns, heart rate, stairs usage and software. From the past 5 years, on 3 occasions, the data analyzed from wearable devices supplied by the company were used to solve murder mysteries that were otherwise hard to solve for the law enforcement.
