Company to Contribute Expertise to Cyber Workforce Accelerator Program
BCR Cyber, a leading provider of end-to-end cyber training and employment services, today announced that Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has become a member of the BCR Cyber Strategic Industry Partner Consortium. This consortium, composed of more than 40 public and private organizations, provides strategic guidance to ensure BCR Cyber’s training programs align with current cybersecurity industry standards and workforce demands.
This year, BCR Cyber introduced the Cyber Workforce Accelerator (CWA) Workforce Development (WFD) Program. Fully funded by the Maryland Department of Labor, the program trains 1,100 Maryland residents at no cost to participants. The WFD initiative is built on BCR Cyber’s Security Operations Center (SOC) Operations Analyst I (SOCOA I) Training and Certification, an Industry-Recognized Credential (IRC).
The direction we will receive from Lockheed Martin on our training programs will help program participants develop the skills needed for today’s ever-evolving cyber workforce.”— Michael Spector, President and CEO, BCR Cyber
Lockheed Martin’s involvement will directly influence the design and delivery of BCR Cyber’s curriculum — spanning foundational concepts to applied skills — ensuring participants receive relevant, job-focused training. By integrating real-world industry expertise, BCR Cyber ensures its programs remain practical, current, and closely connected to workforce opportunities, helping address the cybersecurity talent shortage in Maryland.
“The direction we will receive from Lockheed Martin on our training programs is based on experiential situations and will help program participants develop the skills needed for today’s ever-evolving cyber workforce,” says Michael Spector, President and CEO of BCR Cyber. “BCR Cyber’s employer consortium is key to the success of our workforce development program and to helping Maryland meet a growing need for skilled IT and cyber professionals.”
In addition to shaping curriculum, Lockheed Martin and other consortium members will actively engage with program graduates, recruiting from the trained talent pool to fill critical cybersecurity roles within their organizations. Consortium members also have the option to enroll their own employees in BCR Cyber’s upskilling programs, creating a seamless pipeline between training and employment.
Membership in BCR Cyber’s Strategic Industry Partner Consortium is free and includes ongoing networking and promotional opportunities. More information about BCR Cyber can be found at www.bcrcyber.com.
