Portal26 has launched Recon, a new capability designed to give security, IT and compliance teams real-time answers about how AI is being used across their organizations.
The tool allows enterprises to query their AI consumption data using plain language, providing evidence-based answers about security risk, governance, compliance and AI usage. Recon analyzes prompts, responses, agents and AI tools alongside company, user, intent and behavioral context to identify potential risks and governance gaps.
For example, security and compliance teams can ask questions, such as how current AI usage affects GDPR or CCPA compliance, or assess activity against ISO 42001 requirements. The platform can also automatically generate risk scorecards and remediation plans, identify gaps as regulations change and help teams implement remediation measures.
The launch comes as enterprises grapple with gaining visibility into expanding generative and agentic AI deployments. For CISOs and SOC teams, Portal26 says Recon is designed to identify detection gaps and continuously adjust security posture rather than relying on periodic manual reviews. Compliance and legal teams can similarly identify potential exposure as new regulations emerge and generate evidence for audits.

Recon is also aimed at forward-deployed engineers (FDEs), giving teams visibility into AI applications and agents before, during and after deployment. Portal26 argues this can help engineers understand what happens to AI systems once they enter production rather than losing visibility after deployment.
