Katie Arrington has resigned from her CISO post she held at the Department of Defense and announced that she is doing so in protest of the allegations she is facing regarding sensitive information leak to a DOD contractor.

Ms. Arrington stated in a press release held after her resignation that the allegations pressed against her were false and baseless and were being done because of some political motivation driven bigger conspiracy.

Pentagon and National Security Agency are still analyzing the resignation given by Ms. Arrington on February 7th, 2022 and is yet to react to the insider threat controversy.

In March 2021, the decision to move the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program from DOD office of A&S to DOD CIOs office was taken by the Biden administration and the activity in this regard took a shift from the second week of May last year- forcing the administration place Ms. Arrington on a long leave. Arrington was then asked to provide a valid answer to the counterintelligence committee where she was provided a clean-chit.

Note 1- Katie Arrington was made the in-charge of CMMC during the trump tenure and the recent developments seem to have offended the lady to the core, who then put down the papers to protest the change and the cold war with defense secretary Jesse Salazar.

Note 2- Katie has announced her candidacy for the House of Representatives- a day after her resignation.
