Managed.com, a web hosting provider, has been disrupted by a ransomware attack from Monday this week and the company services still seem to be down even at the time of writing this article.

In what is known to Cybersecurity Insiders, the company’s website is down since November 16th,2020 and highly placed sources say that most of the data related to websites hosted on the said platform remain unreachable.

Even the Internet’s largest web hosting provider’s own website is unreachable since 3 days and information is out that the entire web hosting infrastructure has been badly impacted.

Small businesses and some enterprise clients are not sure on whether they can cope up with this disruption, as Managed.com has provided no update to them on whether their data is safe and can be recovered from backups.

Information is out that DotNetNuke Hosting Solutions, WordPress sites along with some email servers, DNS servers, and online databases were deeply impacted in the incident.

Earlier this year, several web hosting and data center providers were targeted by ransomware attacks and this includes some renowned names such as Equinix, CyrusOne, Cognizant, X-Cart, A2 Hosting, SmarterASP.NET, Dataresolution.net and Internet Nayana.

Note- On November 17th,2020, a source from Managed.com reported that the disruption of its services was because of an unscheduled maintenance being conducted by the technical team. But now, the web hosting provider has admitted that the disruption was because of a file encrypting malware attack.
