Check Point Software Technologies acquires Cymplify

Check Point Software Technologies which is into Cybersecurity business has made it official that it has acquired IoT Cyber Security Company Cymplify- an Israel based startup. The plan is to integrate the technology of the newly acquired company into Check Point’s Infinity Architecture and strengthen its stand in detecting IoT related Cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

Thus, with the latest purchase, the Multi-National Software provider claims to the first company to consolidate security solutions to protect the firmware of IoT devices from sophisticated Cyber Attacks.

As IoT devices have proliferated into consumer, enterprise and industrial as well as healthcare business, inherent security weaknesses have allowed threat actors to launch 5th and 6th generation of cyber-attacks on devices such as CCTV cameras, medical devices such as pacemakers’ production units of manufacturing firms.

 “Cymplify offers IoT Security technology that cuts down the risk of cyber-attacks on IoT devices without disrupting critical operations and Check Point wants to integrate the sophistication into its Cybersecurity solutions to strengthen its business in the world of IoT, said Dorit Dor, the Vice President for Products, Check Point.

Check Point says that its latest technology acquisition will allow IP cameras, Smart TVs and refrigerators to be shielded from Zero-day cyber attacks.
