Check Point software to acquire Email Security company Avanan

Check Point software has made it official that it is going to acquire Email Security startup Avanan for an undisclosed price. However, trade analysts state that the deal could have fetched the latter anything between $250 million to $300 million, and could prove as one the biggest acquisition made by the company, surpassing its financial deal of cloud security company Dome 9 as well.

New York based Avanan that offers cloud based malware protection to email users helps protect them from malicious links, URLs, phishing emails and threats hitting network, web and endpoint threats.

By acquiring Avanan, Check Point Software Technologies will excel in the business of preventing threats on emails and visions to become a dominant player soon”, says Eyal Manor, the head of Check Point Security Product Management.

Note 1- Check Point Software Technologies provides software and related hardware that helps in providing network security, endpoint security, cloud security, mobile security, data security and security management. It has over 5000 employees worldwide, to which over 200 employees from Avanan will be added by the end of Oct’2021.

Note 2- Since 2018, Check Point incepted a new threat intelligence team that helps discover new threats, intrusion attempts and vulnerabilities on the web.
