Speedcast, an Australian company which offers Communications Satellite Technology has launched a cloud-based solution to thwart cyber attacks on vessels and other Maritime services. The Speedcast’s Cybersecurity as a Service solution is capable to defend maritime assets, detects and monitors threats and helps mitigate the risks of all cyber threat variants.

Cybersecurity as a service from the New South Wales based company integrates a unified threat management system with end-point protection. Hence, it helps secure Maritime as well as remote sites linked to online services via satellite communication.

“Speedcast’s Cybersecurity solution provided advanced cyber security applications and best in class services, enabling customers to proactively control their cyber threats,” said Tim Bailey, the Executive Vice President for Products and Business Development, Speedcast.

In this era, where companies are going through a digital transformation and installing automation driven solutions, they need to have an utmost defense when it comes to cybersecurity said, Bailey.

This is where Speedcast’s Security Operations center proactively monitors the protection level of customer sites by protecting all maritime assets from malicious threats. Moreover, the service can be operated remotely i.e. from physical sites or vessels with the help of Speedcast’s Integrated Communication Platform, Sigma Gateway, and Sigma Gateway Xtreme.

Workboats, Commercial ships, offshore oil and gas production platforms, floating production units and drilling rigs operating worldwide can take the help of the Speedcast’s innovative Cybersecurity as a service platform.

Meanwhile, Speedcast expects to complete its $135million acquisition of its rival VSAT service provider Globecomm Systems before the end of 2018.
