US Government offers $10m reward to nab Sandworm hackers of Russia

The Government of the United States has formally announced that those who help them in nabbing or at least identifying six Russian GRU hackers belonging to the Sandworm Hacking group will be rewarded $10 million cash and that to tax-free.

Rewards Bounty announced by the USA is a part of the Department of State Rewards for Justice Program that was announced to nab criminals hacking into the critical IT infrastructure of the Biden-led nation.

The six GRU officers who are now most wanted by the US Department of State are:

  • Yuriy Sergeyevich Andreinko,

  • Sergey Vladimirovich Detistov,

  • Pavel Valeryevich Frolov,

  • Anatoliy Sergeyevich Kovalev,

  • Artem Valeryevich Ochichenko,

  • Petr Nikolayevich Pliskin

All the above-stated officers belonging to the Sandworm hacking group were found guilty in the year 2020 for spreading or inducing malware into the government networks to disrupt network services on a temporary or permanent note.

NOTE 1- Sandworm hacking group is also known by the names Team, Telebots, Voodoo Bear, and Iron Viking.

NOTE 2- The other hacking gangs that are on the list of the Rewards of Justice are REvil Ransomware, Darkside Ransomware, Conti Ransomware, Lazarus, and Hafnium group from China.
