Britain a Cyber Power and a Big Animal in Digital World

As per the perspective of UK’s intelligence chief Jeremy Fleming, Britain seems to be a Cyber Power and its adversaries such as China and Russia are busy disrupting the future technologies of the country.

Britain has emerged as a big animal in the digital world and needs to develop its sovereign capabilities in areas such as quantum computing on an urgent note.

Flemings mind read comes at the juncture when the Prime Minister Boris Johnson disclosed his mind about the need to form a D10 Group that would be made up with countries like Australia, India and South Korea in order to act like a tech rival to China.

Concerned about the Britain’s 5G network development, and the need to spur new telecom companies that could help replace the vacuity created by the ban on Huawei, Johnson wants new tech companies like Sony Ericson to take over the future of 5G in UK.

“China and Russia are threatening to curb the freedom of internet and design of the telecom network in Britain and UK needs to tame these nations on an urgent note”, said Mr. Fleming while delivering an online lecture at the Imperial College, London.

As the two nations are proposing a radical change to the internet architecture in coming years–referring to the internet surveillance taken up by China and Russia’s new RUNET, Jeremy said that UK needs to find new innovations to keep the prosperity and security of the country intact.

Sharing her thoughts on cyber and international security, Emily Taylor, an expert at the Chatham House think tank, says that Russia and China have emerged as two technological powers that do not value UK’s presence just for the sake of dominance.

So, readers what’s your say on this…..?
