AI Demon scares Google Employee

A suspended Google employee named Blake Lemoine, 41, said that a newly invented AI tool in his former company was acting sentient and was speaking some scary words.

Mr. Blake said that an artificial intelligence tool called LaMDA that was under development was speaking like an 8-year-old and occasionally saying that if he shuts him down, then it would be death for him.

Such harsh words are never used by artificial intelligence tucked machines unless they are fed with certain data sets that are filled with content representing hatred, blasphemy, discriminatory, and unethical information.

So, if the newly developed (Language Model for Dialog Applications) LaMDA is acting sentient, it could spell trouble to our entire humankind, unless Google takes strict action to suspend the project or tame it to the core.

Lemoine said nothing about the AI tool that was thinking and acting on its own. But said that it needs to be immediately contained and suspended for a better future for humans. Otherwise, it could bring in a doomsday soon, like how the movie Terminator released almost two decades ago predicted the future of automated machines and their life with humans.

Blake claimed he put forward his analysis, experience with LaMDA, and analysis before Blaise Arcas and Jen Gennai, both heads of Responsible Innovation at Google.

However, both dismissed the claims and asked Blake to go on administrative leave for a long term for breaching the confidentiality policy of the company.
