For the past 1 year or so, a museum is unable to access its artecraft database because of a ransomware attack on the servers of Gloucester City Council. The Phishing email attack took place in the year 2021 and the Museum of Gloucester that identified the unauthorized intrusion is still being affected by the cyber incident.

Zoll Medical, a company that is into the development of Medical Technology, was hit by a cyber attack recently, leading to the leak of data related to one million individuals. The company that is into the development of equipment and software for emergency care and healthcare data management identified the activity to be existing from the first week of February 2nd, 2023, leading to illegal access of names, addresses, DOBs and social security numbers. Presently, there is no information on the leaked data being misused.

CISA has introduced a new program that helps companies managing critical infrastructure identify vulnerable systems that threat actors spreading ransomware can exploit. It is called as Ransomware Vulnerability Warning Pilot (RVWP) and works with goals- identify vulnerabilities and fix the flaws scientifically.

ALPHV ransomware gang claims to have hacked into the database network of RING cameras, owned by Amazon. And the BlackCat malware spreading gang is threatening to release the stolen data by this month’s end, if their demands are not taken seriously.

LockBit Ransomware gang has reportedly posted an update online that it has gained access to classical information related to Maximum Industries, a spare parts supplier to Elon Musk owned SpaceX. According to the update, available via Twitter, the gang claims to have siphoned information related to 3,000 schematics of SpaceX and is intending to publish the blueprints from March 20 of this year, if their demands to pay $10m ransom aren’t met!

Blackbaud, the cloud software provider, has made it official that it will pay $3m, as a compensation for the deed of failing to make the details public of the 2020 ransomware attack that affected over 13,000 of its customers. The amount will be paid as a civil penalty and will be settled by September 2023.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has issued a warning to all users who are active on Play-to-Earn games application about a possibility that their devices could be tricked into stealing millions of cryptocurrencies. The warning was issued after the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) received about 13 complaints where users expressed their concerns over currency loss from their digital wallets.

Acer, the Taiwan-based company that is into the manufacturing of Electronics has confirmed a cyber incident where hackers stole documents related to its repair technicians. The company issued an apology and assured that hackers accessed or stole no customer data.

Acronis, the backup software developer and supplier, has downplayed the twitter speculations that its servers were compromised by a cyber-attack. And stated only one customer details were stolen by a hacker named Kernelware.

Cerebral, a mental healthcare provider, has issued HIPAA Privacy Breach notice to all impacted 3.18 million patients stating that their history of interactions with the hospital for treatment might be leaked to hackers. The company launched an investigation early this month and discovered that certain personal details of the patients were accessed by third party/s from October 12th,2019 to January 3rd,2023 and the attack took place via tracking pixels.
