Cyber Attack on NiceHash Crypto Mining website results in CEO Resignation!

Cyber Attack on Crypto Mining website NiceHash has resulted in the resignation of Marko Kobal, the co-founder, and CEO of the said Slovenian startup. So, the New Year 2018 witnessed Kobal replacement with Zdravko Poljasevic as ‘NiceHash’ CEO.

Going further into the details, NiceHash witnessed a cyber attack on its database on December 6th,2017. The very next day the largest Crypto Mining website issued a press statement saying that hackers succeeded in siphoning 4000 BTC or $60 million worth USD from the company’s financial assets.

An investigation was launched by the country’s law enforcement on December 8th, 2017 and details of the investigation are awaited.

On December 21st, 2017, Kobal announced his resignation on LinkedIn. And as per the terms of Kobal’s resignation, he has agreed to sell off his 45% stake in NiceHash to a private individual or entity. The remaining balance will be kept intact by NiceHash’s parent company, H-Bit.

All LinkedIn connections of Zdravko Poljasevic learned on 1st January 2018 that he has replaced Kobal and will lead the organization as a CEO from now on.

Probably, Poljasevic has his own plans to put NiceHash back on to the track in Cryptocurrency business by setting things right by the end of this month.

The site is already back online and users are being allowed to mine cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoins, Ethereum, Monero, Dash, Zcash, Litecoins as usual through the cloud-based Crypto Mining platform.

A notice put on the website says that the company will issue a final word on ways to restore the lost balances by January 31st,2018.

Already, the company is said to be in talks with a group of international investors on this note.
